Company Background:
GBL
Systems Corporation was formed in June of 1990 based on the founders’ extensive development
experience with real-time executives and operating systems for the Navy’s
F-14D program. Since its inception, GBL has provided systems and technology
services in support of the United States Navy and several defense prime
contractors at the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC), Weapons Division at
Point Mugu, California and Long Island, New York.
In support of the company’s core
business, GBL provides software and systems design at their west coast
headquarters for real-time embedded systems on the F-14 and EA-6B aircraft
platforms. Within the last few years, GBL has expanded with East Coast
Operations supporting Lockheed Martin on the D5 Backfit Navigation Subsystem
Development program.
GBL’s expertise remains
centered in the avionics domain with an emphasis on systems and software
development. The service areas we offer stem from our strength in computer
architecture and operating systems that have enabled the company to take a
leading role in the system/software requirements definition and software design
efforts on a majority of the subsystems integrated onto the F-14 aircraft. GBL’s
expertise in military software connectivity has enabled the company to extend
its role into the definition of avionics systems architecture and subsystem
interfaces. GBL also offers other professional services to its customers,
including project management, financial planning and analysis, accounting and
auditing, and strategic business planning services.

Past Performance: Past performance has earned GBL
extremely high marks in customer satisfaction and reliability. GBL has
developed a highly regarded reputation as an integration and
trouble-shooting house, resulting in assignments across multiple aircraft
platforms and avionics subsystems ranging from software implementation of
crucial communications & control functionality to problem investigations the
Navy has deemed "un-resolvable". Additional services have included
development of test support software (subsystem simulators/emulators and
automated test drivers), feasibility studies and analysis of flight test
data. Previous projects included the baseline F-14B Upgrade conversion
program followed by the integration of an Embedded GPS/INS (EGI) subsystem,
a Control & Display Navigation Unit (CDNU) subsystem, and the Joint Direct
Attack Munitions (JDAM), a GPS guided weapon. The JDAM project had an
aggressive schedule in which the first weapon drop was accomplished within
an 18-month period after system conception. Ongoing projects include
developing artificial intelligent 'agent' based combat decision support aids
for the EA-18G electronic warfare aircraft, software updates for EA-6B 1553
bus problem resolution, and providing consultation services for the continue
support of the F-14 aircraft.
