EMC has 20 years of natural/cultural resource management and environmental compliance experience. We are dedicated to maintaining technical expertise ahead of requirements within the environmental and engineering service arena. Our highly trained, skilled staff of environmental professionals and support personnel includes engineers, biologists, botanists, archeologists, technicians, and other specialists providing extensive environmental services. Natural Resource Management Support EMC offers expertise and solid experience monitoring and managing precious natural resource assets. We comprehensively and expertly assess and address our client’s natural resource management requirements. Our attention to detail assures compliance with Federal regulations, such as the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammal Protection Act. We interface with Federal and State agencies for our clients and keep them apprised of ongoing activities during the often complicated processes required to manage natural resources. EMC’s technical personnel are thoroughly familiar with the various natural resource issues that impact daily operations at commercial and industrial facilities; we work with our clients to effectively and legally address those issues. Cultural Resource Management Support EMC’s staff has supported Cultural Resource work for almost a decade. Our archaeologist and technicians offer a wealth of knowledge of extinct and indigenous peoples and have direct experience in excavations and artifact identification. We provide direct support in the ongoing monitoring of cultural and historical sites and understand their value and sensitivity. Curation is conducted in accordance with current Federal standards. We enter site data in the industry-recognized Artifact Pro software and standardize the classification process for inventory control. As we conduct archaeological site surveys and assessments, EMC evaluates the site with respect to eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places. Our staff also screens structures to determine whether specific construction criteria are met; several structures have qualified for Federal landmark status. Compliance Management Support EMC has a successful history helping customers balance environmental concerns with civilian and military facility operations. Complying with agency regulations and jurisdictional rights can be challenging. We conduct building surveys and environmental compliance audits of both commercial and industrial facilities. Processes and procedures are reviewed and assessed for applicability with Federal, State, local, and other government directives. EMC offers our historical knowledge and expertise in a completely professional and non-adversarial manner. If deficiencies are identified, findings are analyzed and remediation plans are generated. Environmental Surveys and Sampling EMC’s certified and credentialed site assessment personnel routinely conduct facility audits and surveys for lead-based paints (LBP) and asbestos-containing materials (ACM). We generate hazard and exposure assessments, risk analyses, and economic analyses based on data gathered. We recommend remediation options, where necessary, that comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidance for abatement and/or demolition purposes. EMC conducts scheduled drinking water sampling for the presence of lead and copper for local municipalities and our Department of Defense clients in accordance with all EPA guidelines. Results of findings are compiled and reported with recommendations for follow-up actions as prescribed by regulation. |
